Bombay Beach Resort is a town partially destroyed by the Salton Sea. Although there is a VFW and a few homes left the resort part now looks like a set from an Armageddon movie. Actually it has been a set for an Armageddon movie.

Pie Town, NM - the way people talked about Pie Town around the fire I wasn't sure it was real. Turns out Pie Town is the per verbal wide spot in the road which lives up to its name.

You can boondock in the town park as long as you want. A guy they called Sundown who came to Pie Town every year in this wagon pulled by mules. Winter he drove the wagon somewhere in Arizona. When he died they adopted out the mules and left the wagon in his old spot.
