I had visited visited Yuma a few times with the WINs but in 2016 decided to spend a month there in an RV Park. I could have stayed at the Casino for free but thought with the weather getting colder it would be nice to be able to run my electric heater and not worry about finding a place to dump and fill.

The problem with RV parks, besides the expense, is you’re packed in with lots of other RVs. In the desert the morning view out my window is a sunrise over the desert. In an RV park my view is the big 5th wheel next to me.

Howling at the Moon. There are lots of activities for us old farts in Yuma. The day I arrived was the monthly Howling at the Moon. Thought there’d be a few dozen people sitting in chairs watching the moon come up. Instead there were hundreds of folks, food vendors and music for dancing.

Before the moon came up there was a nice sun going down. And yes they howled at the moon.

Mitty lake is a medium size lake about 10 miles out of Yuma. Free RV parking for 10 days. The last few miles of road are a bit bad but it’s a peaceful and pretty place to park.
